Process Optimization and CO2 Emission Analysis of Coal/Biomass Gasification Integrated with a Chemical Looping Process

Biomass gasification is an attractive technology and one of the pathways for producing hydrogen. Due to variable seasons low calorific value biomass, addition coal in gasifier suggested because has a high carbon-to-hydrogen ratio. In general, gaseous product obtained always contains amount carbon dioxide, therefore, co-gasification biomass should integrate with calcium looping dioxide capture process provide purified this work, model integrated was developed through Aspen Plus simulator. The used analyze performance process. sensitivity analysis demonstrated that increasing temperature, steam-to-feed (S/F) ratio, oxide-to-feed (CaO/F) regenerator temperature could improve hydrogen production. Next, further optimization performed identify optimal operating condition maximizes results showed 700 °C S/F mass ratio 2 (C/B) 0.75:0.25. However, carbonator temperatures be 450 950 °C, respectively, CaO/F 3. Under these conditions, maximum H2 content yield can provided as 99.59%vol. (dry basis) 92.38 g hydrogen/kg feeding. other revealed energy efficiency are 42.86% 99.99%, specific emission released CO2 80.77 CO2/MJ.
